The Benefits of Multilingual Brain

25 Jun

As a speaker of four different languages, I found this video very interesting. I’m sure that many of you who also speak more than one single language will like learning about these facts 🙂

** Visual English **

14 Feb

Nowadays, many people pay more attention to visual input than to other type of inputs. We are a society receiving visual stimulation most of the time, whether we want it or not, it happens. Consequently, this affects the way our students learn, they are 2.0 learners. Their concentration span is very different to the one learners used to have more than a decade ago. There are so many things around us wanting to get our attention that it seems quite hard when we try to focus on just a single one for a long period of time.

As teachers, we cannot pretend to teach anymore the way we were taught by our teachers. Society evolves and so must teaching do. Fortunately, this 2.0 world we are in also gives us lots of new and useful teaching resources  to help us adapt to the visual society.

Next, I would like to share some good examples of visual input that work very well in the EFL class. They are colourful, consice and brief – the best substitute to the old classnotes we all used to take.

If you have a smartboard, a projector or a computer in class or your students work tablets or iPads, this is the best way to help them acquire knowledge.
